Avitanio'23, the highly anticipated event organized by AeroGenZ Aviation Club, made a remarkable debut at the esteemed University of Peradeniya. This momentous occasion aimed to introduce the club and its diverse initiatives to the general public, with the invaluable support and guidance of Dr. Janaka Wijayakulasooriya.

The Aerospace Day kicked off with an enlightening presentation on the introduction to flight, skillfully delivered by two distinguished guests from the Sri Lanka Air Force. Wing Commander Mr. Shyam Edirisinghe, a well-skilled jet pilot, shared his expertise and experiences in aviation, while Wing Commander Mr. Dinusha Edirisinghe, a renowned aeronautical engineer, provided profound insights into flight principles and aircraft design.

Following the engaging introduction, the event unfolded with captivating demonstrations, leaving the audience in awe. Qbits Codegen Labs orchestrated a mesmerizing drone demonstration, showcasing cutting-edge unmanned aerial technology and its wide-ranging applications.

A highlight of the day was the RC planes demonstration, skillfully presented by Mr. Esala Amrasekara, an enthusiastic talent from the E19 batch of the Engineering faculty. With precision and finesse, Mr. Amrasekara enthralled spectators with the aerial acrobatics of these miniature marvels, igniting a passion for remote-controlled aviation among the attendees.

The event further featured an exhilarating water rocket demonstration, displaying the principles of propulsion and rocketry. Participants marveled as water-powered rockets soared into the sky, leaving an indelible impression of the potential for future space exploration.
